Thanks for the great pictures Josh. It is amazing when you think of the changes that have occurred there since everything has started, along with how many things still stay the same (the sun setting, the river flowing, people trying to live somewhat normal lives, etc.).
It is am interesting way to look at those pictures. I'm glad you brought that up, because I was thinking about it from a purely egocentric point of view, "Wow, I'm lucky to have the chance to see something like this here, and now." Something you can't see in my picture of the Trigris, is the fact that there's this big shean of petroleum product running along the bank. The Iraqi concept of environmental awareness is "Bury it, that way we won't see it." As I am find of saying, "We know we have succeeded in our mission when the Iraqi EPA comes and fines the Army for environmental violations." ~Josh
